World of Warcraft: Great Crowd Control (CC) Macro

January 30th, 2008 | by Shintar |

After getting my Druid to level 70 and completing in a few arena games, I realize I was in great need of some Druid macros. I came across WoWWiki and found a nice page on Useful Macros for Druids.

The page is an excellent source on nice and useful macros, plus it saved me a lot of time from searching through the WoW forums. I suggest anyone with a Druid to check out the page to see if there’s anything that could be useful for you. However, the macro that really caught my attention was the macro on Crowd Control, or CC for short, and we all know how infamous Druids are with CCs…

Here’s the macro:
/focus [btn:2][target=focus,noharm][target=focus,dead]
/cast [target=focus]Cyclone

For this example, I’m using Cyclone but it can work with any spell, like Entangling Roots, Polymorph, or Fear, which makes this marco useful for any class, well most of them anyway.

The macro works by remembering your first target that you cast the spell on, by using focus, then the macro will automatically cast that spell on that target again on command without you having to target that person. Very useful if you ask me. Additionally, you can change target if you wish by right clicking the macro. Note: After every arena match, you have to use the right click to select your new target as the marco will try to cast the spell on the last person from the last match.

As stated before, this macro will be useful for any class, especially ones with CC, so you can be more free to help with your team’s target or keeping yourself alive.

If you’re interested in more marcos for your class, check out the Useful Macro page on WoWWiki. Now if I can find an Idol switching and a Totem destroying macro, I’ll be in love. I have them but they are not working well.
