Warhammer Online: RvR Changes Podcast
January 11th, 2008 | by Shintar |This is old news but new to me because I haven’t been keeping up with the development of Warhammer Online recently. If I was in the beta, hint hint, that would be a different story on the other hand.
Anyways, Mythic apparently made some minor changes to Realm Vs Realm, or RvR mechanics, making the causal gamers feel like they have a deeper impact in the overall RvR conflict, which is fine and all but I’m really interested in the siege aspect of RvR in Warhammer Online.
I have always wanted World of Warcraft to add siege engines into their Battlegrounds, they planned to add that in a year ago but that never came to fruit. I don’t even know if Blizzard still plans to ever add in siege weapons into their system, perhaps in the next expansion. I can dream.
But, one of the things that made Mythic’s last MMO, Dark Age of Camelot, so fun was the fact that their RvR system was quite involved and fun, with siege weapons and everything. Blizzard’s battleground system is more like a grind than anything these days.
Check out http://www.camelotherald.com/newfrontiers/siegeweapons.php to look at what siege weapons Dark Age of Camelot had for RvR. Love to see Blizzard render some siege weapon from Warcraft III.
In the meantime, check out the changes and mechanics of RvR in Warhammer Online.
